- Prince George’s County police made a gruesome discovery this morning: they found a body in a trash compactor, WaPo reports, and are investigating.
- Back at City Desk, Jason Cherkis attempts to find out why the Metropolitan Police Department’s longtime spokesperson, Traci Hughes, is suddenly off the job. Hughes says “she was told that she was being laid off due to budget cuts.”
- WTOP’s Mark Segraves reports that George Rawlings was carrying a gun when he was shot and killed while trying to board a Metrobus on H Street NE last week. And just in case you were wondering, “it’s not the missing gun police say DeOnte [Rawlings] used to shoot at police more than two years ago.”
