A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect starting at 7 p.m. this evening all the way through to 6 p.m. on Friday. The District government has gone ahead and announced that a full deployment of its snow team will be out salting starting at 9 p.m., though the forecast, at least for now, is focused on freezing rain and sleet. Luckily, tonight’s commute looks to be relatively safe, but icy conditions could greet drivers, cyclists and pedestrians alike in the morning. There isn’t a ton of certainty at this point about how much and exactly what kind of precipitation we might see from this storm, so exercise caution out there, and give yourself a little extra time to get to work tomorrow.
