That’s just eight short days from now! It’s time to get excited, folks. Next Saturday, March 6, from 6 to 10 p.m., we’ll be at Long View Gallery to celebrate 47 fantastic photographs that each showcase our city in a different way. More than an art show, DCist Exposed is a celebration of local talent: the awesome photographers who contribute images to DCist, and the faithful readers (that’s you!) who click through to see them every day.

And what’s a celebration without the party favors? This year’s opening reception will be bigger and better than ever. At the bar, mixologist Scott Palmer from Dino will offer a signature punch, Leopold Brothers will host a liquor tasting, Downey Selections will be sharing wines from its portfolio, and Pabst Blue Ribbon will hold down the fort with plenty of beer. Nage will provide hors d’oeuvres, while DJs v:shal kanwar, Sequoia, and Mr Darko spin tunes. All of this in our biggest venue ever — and those who stood in line or joined us in a cramped gallery in previous years know how exciting this part is. We expect to have plenty of room for everyone this year, and it only costs $5 per guest at the door.

All photographs at DCist Exposed will be for sale at prices well below traditional gallery shows. If you’re interested in purchasing a piece, you can do so at the gallery or by contacting me at heather[at]dcist.com. Regular gallery hours are Wednesday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 12 to 5 p.m.
