Local documentary filmmaker Kirk Fraser and his company, May 3rd Films, has posted a pair of trailers online for the spec reality TV show he’s been making about former mayor and Ward 8 D.C. Council member Marion Barry. News of the show’s existence first surfaced back in November.
The first video, above, shows Barry getting censured by the D.C. Council earlier this month, along with some behind the scenes footage of Barry meeting with his lawyer, Fred Cooke. Cooke can be observed calling the censure resolution “bullshit” and speculating that Barry might only need to wait things out for some period of time before he’s given his committee assignments back.
The second one, below, follows Barry, complete with ’70s pimp music, as he visits the Anacostia and Northeast social service center here in D.C.
