Spy City Cafe, the casual dining eatery attached to the International Spy Museum from the team behind Zola and its chef, Bryan Moscatello, quietly started serving up breakfast last week.
The “Zola Bites Breakfast” menu is only eight items deep. It covers the eggs and pancakes basics in a slightly gussied up way. The cheddar egg scramble and the mushroom/Swiss omelette don’t just come with hash browns. They come with hashed brown potatoes with onion and peppers, plus bacon.
Other options include house smoked salmon with a schmear of soft whipped cream cheese, and a fried egg sandwich with Taylor ham. An omelette on panini, on special one morning, was full of flavor from cheddar, mushrooms, and tomato. Mini egg and cheese biscuits, another day’s special, were actually two massive biscuit sandwiches. There’s a different special each morning, served with coffee, for only $4.50.
