Last night Taylor Gourmet held an event to announce their new breakfast menu, which will be served only at their 14th Street location beginning February 4. These items will be available for takeout and delivery on Friday 10 p.m.-3:30 a.m., Saturday 8-10:30 a.m. and 10 p.m.-3:30 a.m., and Sunday 8-10:30 a.m.
The well-stuffed breakfast sandwiches almost compete with the monstrous franken-cheesesteaks at New Jersey grease trucks and sandwich joints like Hoagie Haven. Body Bag (Italian Hoagie, Provolone, Cheese Steak, Hash Browns, Eggs, Ketchup or Hot Sauce) anyone?
The complete breakfast hoagie menu includes:
>> Aramingo Avenue: Bacon, sausage, hash brown, egg, American cheese, house made beer cheese sauce
>> Jefferson Street: Taylor pork roll, caramelized onions, egg, cheddar cheese
>> Frankford Avenue: Bacon, egg, arugula, parmesan
>> Reed Street: Pepperoni, egg, sharp provolone
>> Passyunk Avenue: Roast pork, bacon, egg, sharp provolone
>> Queen Lane: Sausage, broccoli rabe, eggs, sharp provolone
>> Lehigh: Eggplant, eggs, mozzarella
Similar to how most of us feel about McDonald’s breakfast, we think they could make bank if they expanded their breakfast menu throughout the day and throughout the week.
Even if that’s not possible, we’d love for the home made beer cheese sauce that is served with their breakfast risotto balls to be available all day for sandwich dipping. The risotto balls themselves are stuffed with sausage, bacon, Taylor pork roll, and American cheese and rest atop arugula and two eggs.
The crowd favorite seemed to be the Queen Lane with its spicy, garlicky broccoli rabe and zesty sausage. If none of these quite hit the spot, you can order your own custom-made franken-hoagie to satisfy your post-drinking or day starting food needs.
