The folks over at the D.C. Public Schools’ Office of Family and Public Engagement were kind enough to share with us a few fun images from DCPS’s annual prom dress collection drive and shopping day. Each spring, the school district solicits donations of gently used gowns, purses, shoes and other accessories, and then invites students to come try on and pick out items for their proms, free of charge. Last Thursday, more than 50 girls and their mothers attended the event, according to school officials.
