>> The Kevin Robinson Ensemble, led by the Baltimore based saxophonist, combines a variety of jazz traditions and adds elements of spoken word. They’ll be at Twins Jazz tonight for 8 and 10 p.m. sets. Tickets are $10.
>> Three Stars alum Brad Linde performs an intimate set tonight, leading his quartet at the Strathmore Mansion. 7:30 p.m. $15
>> The Klezmatics, a band that infuses a traditional Eastern European sound with elements of jazz, Latin, and eastern influences. They’ll be at the Music Center at Strathmore on Thursday for an 8 p.m. set. $25
>> Vocalist Andrea Wood, a local native, is a promising young artist fresh out of conservatory. She’ll return to Twins Jazz on Thursday for 8 and 10 p.m. sets. $10
>> Fusion icons The Yellowjackets are entering their fourth decade on the scene. They’ll set up shop at Blues Alley on Thursday to kick off a four night stand of 8 and 10 p.m. sets. Tickets are $30 + $12.50 minimum/surcharge.
>> Paul Carr, a mainstay of the local scene who is the chief organizer of the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival, will lead a group of fine local talent on Friday at Jazz Night in Southwest. 6 to 9 p.m. $5
>> Brothers Nathan and Noble Jolley, drummer and pianist, respectfully, are two extremely talented players who are on the cusp of more widespread recognition. They’ll be at Bohemian Caverns on Friday and Saturday for 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. sets. The band includes D.C. native and 2009 Monk Competition winner Ben Williams on bass, and innovative saxophonist Casey Benjamin. Tickets are $18.
