All you need for a parade is a saxophone, a snare drum, searing heat, a couple a kiddie bombs, and the Floating Lab Collective. That is, if your parade is a WParade. Artists and arts organizations John James Anderson, Batala Washington, Adrienne Mills, and the Glade Dance Collective — among others — introduced a new art parade along the Capitol Riverfront in Southeast.

It all seems very far away, what with the weather right now threatening cats and dogs, but yesterday brought the summer heat necessary for great summertime activities, like grilling and parades, in addition to heat that made people absolutely lose their minds.
