Columbia Heights Plaza is a really nice use of public space, but for months, the plaza’s centerpiece fountain has been somewhat overshadowed by the visual pollution of heavy streetscape construction on 14th Street NW. But New Columbia Heights reports that DDOT has good news — the orange cones, barriers and fences on that busy stretch should be removed soon, as work will be complete by July 9. There is a downside, though: DDOT crews will be working throughout the night this week in order to finish the work.
