Another election is on the horizon, and there’s nothing you can do about it. (I know, we’re still recovering from the last one, too.) Early voting for November’s general election begins today at One Judiciary Square — meaning Vince Gray partisans don’t even have to wait until the man finishes his town hall tour to register their vote. We’re hearing reports that a smattering of Fenty write-in supporters are making their presence known at the voting center this morning, but it’s hardly sounds like anything on the scale of the first day of early voting in September’s primary, when Fenty and Gray supporters were dueling with megaphones and the such.

If you want to make your mark before November 2, it’s mostly the same drill as it was in late August and early September. The main voting center at 441 4th Street NW is open between 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m., today through October 30 (excluding Sundays) and on Monday, November 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Just like the primary, there will be several satellite early voting centers opening up next week:

  • Chevy Chase Community Center, 5601 Connecticut Avenue NW
  • Hine Junior High School Auditorium, 335 8th Street SE
  • Southeast Tennis and Learning Center, Round Room, 701 Mississippi Avenue SE
  • Turkey Thicket Recreation Center Auditorium, 1100 Michigan Avenue NE

Each of these locations are will be open between 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m., Saturday, October 23 through Saturday, October 30 — but will be closed on Sunday, October 24. Of course, you can get your fill of early voting info at the D.C. Board of Elections and Ethics website.
