Remember, remember the fifth of December — at least for being a snow-laden day on record. The Capital Weather Gang noted earlier this week that Washingtonians have seen a snow storm in five of the past eight years. Unfortunately that record will probably fall to 5-9 tonight, as flurries are the best we can hope for in terms of precipitation. Hopefully the Redskins and their similar record can fare better today.

>> Sweet Mango Cafe, located just across the street from the Petworth Metro station, was significantly damaged by fire last night. According to D.C. Fire & EMS, the fire started at approximately 8 p.m. in the kitchen duct of the restaurant, which specializes in West Indian and Jamaican dishes. Though no one was injured in the fire, officials estimate $100,000 in damages.

>> A man was shot in the neck last night a few blocks north of the convention center. According to police, the man was shot during an attempted robbery and was found breathing an conscious by EMS.
