Photo by ellievanhoutteJust seems nowadays everyone is gnawing at their nails, waiting and conjecturing without abatement over the first snow storm of the winter season. Will 2010 be the red-headed step child of the decade — constantly compared to Snomgasm and Snowpocalypse of 2009? Let’s all put down our peremptory shovels and bags of salt, and chill out — come Tuesday. The Post’s Capital Weather Gang is predicting a cold snap to take over the region early next week. A cold front from the northern Midwest, bringing with it highs and lows into the teens and wind chills dipping below zero, will arrive late Monday, reaching its worst on Tuesday. Already the Twin Cities region has received up to 13” of snow so far. In preparation, our fair weather skies will pooh-pooh the falling temps by potentially dumping a bit of rain and sleet on D.C., around 0.25″, but not enough to cause any significant problems this weekend. Alas, we’ll have to wait another week for an excuse to catch up on DVDs and create shenanigans in the streets of D.C.
