Here’s an interesting twist in the ongoing saga of the Brickskeller: WTOP’s Adam Tuss, who was the first to break the news that the bar would be renamed Rock Creek later this month, reports today that the name will change again. Turns out that there is already a local establishment with that moniker!

However, [new owner Megan] Merrifield tells WTOP they’ve run into a problem with their new proposed name: There is already a “Rock Creek” restaurant in Bethesda.

“It doesn’t appear that it’s going to be possible to use the name Rock Creek,” Merrifield said Monday. “Our lawyers have told us that it could be potentially problematic down the road and have recommended a name change.”

The good news? Merrifield will solicit suggestions for the new bar’s name from the public, which is a fantastic idea. (Merrifield told Tuss that she’d like the name to “reflect the large number of beers that are available at the establishment.”) You guys did so well suggesting names for the National Zoo’s lion cubs, we figured we’d pick your brains again: what would you rename the Brickskeller?

Addendum: It’s important to note that rights to the Brickskeller name will remain with the bar’s current owners after the sale of the property — so anything involving “Brickskeller” isn’t going to fly.
