During our discussion with Metro General Manager/Chief Executive Officer Richard Sarles on Tuesday night, the new permanent boss noted that one of the two biggest complaints he got from riders wasn’t about high fares, bag searches or reliability issues — it was refuse, like coffee cups, being left inside trains and stations. Sarles was quick to point out that Metro customers should do their part to try and curb such behavior.

“We’ll be reminding people more to say, ‘don’t do that,’ in the coming months and years, but it’s really helpful if everyone just reminds people that they shouldn’t be doing that,” said the general manager.

That’s true — though based on the above advertisement for Green Mountain Coffee, which has been posted its way into several Metro stations around the system, perhaps Metro’s ad sales team also could stand to be reminded of the system’s no food/no drink policy.
