As the region’s largest international airport, it’s no surprise when travelers are caught trying to smuggle drugs in and out of Dulles International Airport in creative ways. (People trying to get cocaine past inspectors inside dried soup packets and fully-cooked chickens come to mind.) But there are still those who attempt to get around the watchdogs via more conventional methods. Take, for example, 45-year-old Ebodor F. Okenwa, whose smuggling creativity was blinded by his foolish ambition. According to a report in the Examiner, Okenwa arrived at Dulles International Airport from Italy last Thursday with 88 pellets of heroin weighing 3.7 pounds and worth $125,000 in his abdomen.

In an affidavit, the Department of Homeland Security came to the conclusion that the amount was “consistent with further distribution.” Uh, yeah, that’s probably a safe bet.
