Beyond the cold rain, we might have flash flooding, severe storms, high winds – and perhaps a tornado? Yeah, this is the day to stay in and watch movies, do some laundry, or catch up on that project you were working on inside the house. And of course, read your favorite D.C.-themed website.
>> A woman was found dead following a fire in an apartment building in the 1300 block of Columbia Road NW. Authorities said the woman was found with second and third degree burns. There was also a small amount of fire damage in the building. Authorities are investigating the fire.
>> Virginia Tech is remembering the 4 year anniversary of the 2007 shooting incident that left 32 people dead. The university’s annual Day of Remembrance activities will include a community picnic and a candlelight vigil at the Drillfield memorial today.
>>A quick reminder about this weekend’s Metro track work: beyond the closure of Orange line stations, there is also work on Blue and Red lines lines. Trains are sharing same track between King Street and Franconia-Springfield on the Blue line, and trains are sharing same track between Twinbrook and Grosvenor and New York Ave and Rhode Island Ave on the Red line. Also, stay away from the Foggy Bottom area as there are road closures for the World Bank meetings.
