Photo by La TurGood morning, Washington and Happy Easter to those celebrating. Looks like we’re in for a nice Easter Sunday, with the chance of storms later this afternoon. Perfect for your egg hunt, brunch outside, or perhaps grilling on the porch.
>> Speaking of Easter, President Obama is currently at Easter services at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Shaw. Might want to avoid the area following the service as it will likely be packed with Secret Service.
>> Those affected by Georgetown’s Washington Harbour flooding are suing the managers of the property. Mason LLP brought the $5 million class-action lawsuit on behalf of a bartender at Farmers & Fishers, and any other business, retailer or worker that lost money. As of now, the bartender is the only person or business to have signed on. Meanwhile, cleanup of the property continues and it is unclear when affected businesses will be able to open.
>> A D.C. teenager was shot and killed in the Hillcrest Heights area of Prince George’s County Friday night. 17-year-old Michael Rayvon Chamberlin was killed in the 3300 block of 27th Avenue after 10 p.m. Police are looking for three males that were seen leaving the scene of the shooting.
>> Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but starting tomorrow there will be awful delays on New York Avenue, as the construction that was announced recently will officially start. And yeah, it will last for the next two years. Might look into an alternate route in and out of the city from Maryland.
