The last time he was in town, an impromptu crowd chanted his name and delivered a stirring rendition of “Happy Birthday” — but this time around, Stephen Colbert’s trip to the Federal Election Commission is all business. (Okay, maybe not all business.)

Colbert is in town today to testify in front of the FEC about his super political action committee (PAC), with which he hopes to offer the public “a voice in the form of my voice shouted through a megaphone made of cash.” According to the funnyman’s Twitter account, he’s arriving at the commission, well, now, and will take the stand around 11 a.m. Colbert’s testimony is expected to revolve around the campaign finance questions which are popping up as a result of his PAC’s establishment, like whether or not Colbert’s promotion of the PAC on-air represents an in-kind donation by his corporate employer, Viacom.

Bottom line: if it’s as hilariously ludicrous as the last time Colbert spoke in front of a government committee, well, we’ll all be in for a treat. You can listen to the meeting live at this link.
