An update, a repeat offender and a playground shooting:

>> On Saturday, two people were shot and killed and another critically injured in a shooting in Columbia Heights. Police have identified the two men who were killed as 32-year-old Jimmie Lee Simmons III and 31-year-old Domonique Barber, both of Northwest D.C. Ward 1 Council Member Jim Graham said that illegal gambling may have been involved.

>> Police in Frederick are looking for 27-year-old Melvin William Smith who they suspect shot and killed Tranice Richardson, 33. Police said the two had been involved in a romantic relationship. Smith was convicted in a fatal shooting in May 2000 and was sentenced to five years in prison for manslaughter.

>> Keith Haddock, 19, was arrested in connection with the shooting of a 17-year-old girl in Silver Spring. The girl told police that a man tried to rob her at a playground.
