Around 1:45 a.m. this morning, three men with guns entered venerable Columbia Heights watering hole Wonderland Ballroom and proceeded to rob an employee before fleeing.

The employee was not injured in the crime. Thanks to a quick response, police were able to apprehend one of the suspected robbers. Two other men remain at large, although police were also able to recover one of the masks and a gun that was used in the crime. After robbing the bar, the three suspects scattered in various directions. If you saw anything, police are asking that you contact them at 202-727-9099.

It’s hardly the first time that masked, armed men have targeted Wonderland — in 2006, the bar was similarly robbed by three men donning masks and guns. (We’re guessing that given the circumstances this time around, it felt a little bit less like a practical joke.)
