FRIDAY

FUNDRAISER: The Friends of Tune Inn have organized a fundraiser for the staff of the Tune Inn, which was recently damaged by a fire, and hope to raise $50,000. The event will be held at American Legion Post 8 (224 D Street SE) and will feature live music, food and Tune Inn memorabilia available for purchase (including booths from the bar). 3-10 p.m.

BIKES: Dandies & Quaintrelles, organizers of the now annual Seersucker Social, invite you to a White Night Full Moon Outing. The evening begins with a bike ride at 8:30 p.m., where cyclists will pass out presents to strangers while being serenaded by musicians in pedicabs, followed by an outing at Logan Circle (between 10 and 10:30 p.m.). Pack a picnic, pick out a whimsical outfit and join for either the ride, the after party, or both. 8:30-11:30 p.m. Free, but registration requested.

FOOD & DRINK: Head to Truckeroo take two at the Navy Yard Metro (Half and M Street SE) tonight to catch 20 to 25 of your favorite food trucks all in one place. Runs until 9 p.m.

MOVIE: Creepy ’80s puppets search out a magical crystal shard in The Dark Crystal, the midnight movie at E Street Cinema (555 11th Street NW) this Friday and Saturday. $11.

ART: Head over to Baltimore this weekend for 3 days and 12 blocks of arts and crafts vendors at Artscape. There will also be live music, karaoke, trivia and more. Noon-10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, noon-8 p.m. on Sunday. Free.

MUSIC: Rock out to some New Wave and make some requests during The Kids in America dance party at Dahlak (1771 U Street NW). 10 p.m. Free.

THEATER: Watch the D.C. Aerial Collective fly through the air with the greatest of ease at their UPheaval show, which we reviewed earlier this week, at Studio Theatre (Mead Theatre, 1501 14th Street NW). $17 plus $7 bracelet required for all Capital Fringe Festival shows. 6 p.m.

SATURDAY

FOOD & DRINK: Enjoy food from local restaurants made with local ingredients and paired with local beer and wine while you listen to music from local bands at the Farm-to-Street Party (V Street NW, between 13th and 14th), another event from Eat Local First Week. 12-5 p.m. $15.

>> Come cheer on chefs from Brasserie Beck, Et Voila! and Belga Café as they compete in a Mussel Throw Down at Eastern Market (7th and C Streets SE). And if you’re hungry for more than just competition, your $5 entrance fee gets you a bowl of mussels and a beer. 12-3 p.m.

SCAVENGER HUNT: Put on your sorting thinking hats and work on your Accio spell — the National Gallery of Art (6th and Constitution Avenue NW) his hosting The Wizard School Scavenger Hunt, a search for art in the museum based on the Harry Potter movies. 2 p.m. $17.50 for kids, $19.50 for adults.

PETS: Take home a furry-friend-in-need from the Washington Humane Society’s Adoption Fair at the New York Avenue Animal Shelter (1201 New York Avenue NW). The event offers 30 percent off adoption fees, trainers discussing behavior topics, prizes, refreshments and more. 12-5 p.m.

MUSEUM: The African American Civil War Memorial Museum is celebrating its grand reopening at a new location (1925 Vermont Avenue NW) this weekend. This Saturday from 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m. there will be panel discussions; Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. there will be a film festival; and Monday at noon will be the ribbon cutting and award ceremony.

BIKES: Ride to the White House, then take a dip in the Columbia Heights splash fountain this Saturday with Kidical Mass. Meet up at 10:30 a.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Farmer’s Market (Lamont Plaza, 17th, Lamont, and Mt. Pleasant Streets NW) and start riding at 11 a.m.

ART: Enjoy art, music, design and magic at The Return of Wonder Emporium at the Warehouse Loft (411 New York Avenue NE). There will be digital installations, a live t-shirt design contest, fire dances, acrobatics, food trucks and more. 9 p.m.-3 a.m. $15 online, $20 at the door.

FESTIVAL: Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens (4155 Linnean Avenue NW) is throwing a two-day French Festival, complete with music from Opera Lafayette, performances by the New York Baroque Dance Company and an art project. Saturday 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m. $18.

MUSIC: Hear England’s Wild Beasts perform at the 9:30 Club (815 V Street NW) with openers Milagres. 8 p.m. $20.

SUNDAY

SPACE: DCist’s own Heather Goss lectures on “Beyond Atlantis: Where does space exploration go from here?” at the Arlington Planetarium’s (1426 N. Quincy Street Arlington VA) Sunday Science series. It will be like Look Up, but live! 4:30 p.m. $5.

DANCE: While the Peruvian Dance Festival at National Geographic Live! (1600 M Street NW) Sunday does feature a number of dance demonstrations, there will also be film screenings, live music and workshops. 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Some events free, some $10 for adults and $5 for children.

FOOD & DRINK: The D.C. State Fair is raising money this Sunday through a bake sale at Zorba’s Cafe (1612 20th Street NW). Come gobble up cookies, brownies, pies, cupcakes and more. 8:30-11 a.m.

MUSIC: Erika M. Anderson, formerly of the Gowns, performs at the Red Palace (1212 H Street SE) as EMA. Helado Negro and Hays Hollladay (of Bluebrain) also take the stage. 8:30 p.m. $8 in advance, or $10 at the door.

SPORTS: Watch some soccer and enjoy drink specials at the 2011 World Cup Viewing Party at The Heights (3115 14th Street NW) this Sunday.
