Those of you heading to the second coming of Jesus this evening at Nationals Park — be sure to bring your umbrella, poncho and a mindset that you might not be witness to such miracles.

The team’s general manager, Mike Rizzo, has announced that despite it raining consistently at the stadium this afternoon, a decision on whether tonight’s game will be played won’t be made until around 7 p.m. If the game is indeed called on account of rain, the game will be made up tomorrow — and Strasburg’s start pushed back — to the first game of a day-night doubleheader at 1 p.m.

Something tells this editor that, given the financial stake the team has in milking Strasburg’s return for all its worth, they’re really going to try and get as many fans into the stadium tonight. Of course, bringing a bunch of fans into the stadium, make them stand in the rain and then canceling the game doesn’t exactly sound like the best move for an organization that’s been struggling with fan relations of late.
