We here at DCist headquarters are currently enjoying a brief respite from the rain, but Prince George’s County is battling hard to try and get out from under some serious flooding. The video above is from Upper Marlboro, where emergency crews are assisting residents and business owners with evacuations from feet of standing water.
Some areas in Prince George’s have taken on several inches of rain over the last 12 hours, making roads unusable, creating mud slides and leaving the county courthouse closed due to flooding. The weather was so bad, the county even opened up its emergency operations center to help manage resources.
A flash flood watch for the entire region remains in effect until Friday morning.
