The 19 people who were arrested yesterday on the steps of the Supreme Court — including civil rights activist Cornel West and local R&B singer Raheem DeVaughn — will not be charged with any crimes. (The demonstrators were arrested after they had carried signs on the steps, which is prohibited.) The Office of the U.S. Attorney announced this afternoon that the protesters would all be released today; West and DeVaughn apparently had their first post-arrest meal at Ben’s.
