>> As part of The Phillips Collection‘s 90th anniversary, Tate Britain Director Penelope Curtis presents a Duncan Phillips Lecture, The Collection Museum: Past, Present, and Future. There, Curtis will discuss her vision for Tate Britain regarding contemporary art on Friday at 6 p.m. Then on Saturday, a symposium panel explores the evolution of private collections into public institutions. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Update: Friday lecture is sold out. >> Curator’s Office opens Churchin’, an exhibit inspired by artist Breck Omar Brunson’s memories of his religious upbringing. Opening reception, Saturday from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Afterwards, head up to Comet Ping Pong for A Churchin’ Afterparty. 9:30 p.m.

>> NYC NOW, an exhibition of new work by five contemporary artists living in New York City, is presented by Morton Fine Art.   • Catch the first The Modern Art Notes Podcast this Thursday. The weekly podcast, while not D.C.-specific, will feature artists, curators, art historians and authors, and will be hosted and produced by local art journalist Tyler Green.
  • The Newseum is offering free admission to members of the military and their families this Veterans Day weekend, Friday through Sunday.
