Well, we weren’t entirely sure how the story about Natasha Dasher — the proprietor of Uniontown Bar and Grill in Anacostia who was busted by federal agents on cocaine distribution charges over the weekend — was going to get any worse. But WTOP’s Mark Segraves appears to have uncovered a nasty piece of fallout: while doing some reporting for a story on the charges, Segraves called the restaurant for comment, when he was greeted with a voicemail message stating that “you can come pick up a kilo.”
The entire audio of the message (with WTOP-inserted bleeps) can be heard here. As of 2:55 p.m., the message was still up, though we have a hard time believing that Uniontown’s phone message hasn’t simply been hacked — among other giveaways (like the fact that it seems totally crazy that someone would leave such a message), the restaurant’s hours are definitely not 9 to 5.
We’ve left a message with Uniontown regarding the message, but we’re not expecting to hear back anytime soon. (The management probably has more pressing concerns at the moment.)
Dasher’s court date has not yet been scheduled; she is facing charges in both Maryland and Texas.
