Just as Jazz in the Garden means it’s summer, ice skating by the National Mall means it’s (nearly) winter.
The National Gallery of Art’s Sculpture Garden Ice Rink opens this weekend, and for $8 you get two hours worth of skating. Sure, it’s a small rink, and yes, it’s often crowded, but it’s something of a D.C. tradition.
The rink will be open on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
If you’re looking for other ice skating options, try the Fort Dupont Ice Arena or Pentagon Row’s outdoor rink, which opened for the season on November 1.
