Back in August, after a series of highly publicized crimes involving so-called flash mobs of teens around the area, the Montgomery County General Assembly started floating proposals to criminalize such behavior. (This, despite the fact that most of said behavior was, you know, already illegal.)
After viewing the above video, though, we’re expecting that kind of talk to start up again.
The clip is the key piece of evidence in a crime Montgomery County police are currently investigating, during which “about 50 teens and young adults” entered a 7-Eleven on the 12000 block of Tech Road in Silver Spring, stole food and drinks, then ran out. Police who responded to the scene were able to detain six of the participants in the crime, but dozens of others were able to flee on foot.
Detectives from the Silver Spring Investigative Section are asking anyone who recognizes any of the people in the video to contact them at 301-565-5835.
