Major track work will take place along a segment of the Red Line this weekend, so if you happen to live near any station from Rhode Island Avenue to Glenmont, you might want to have alternative means of transportation.
WMATA reports that work will begin tonight at 10 p.m. and last through until Sunday — closing down the Brookland, Takoma, Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton and Glenmont stations. Buses will replace rail service for all of the stations.
In related news that can’t bode well for the weekend, a Post survey found that the Red Line is both the busiest in the system and the one with the crankiest riders.
On the Orange Line, buses will replace rail service between Deanwood and Cheverly, though those two stations will remain open.
