Many in the food community were wondering what would happen to the restaurant Rogue 24 while Chef R.J. Cooper recuperates from heart surgery. During the period of January 10 – March 17, 2012, a group of 10 decorated chefs from restaurants around the country will each step in for a Tuesday-Saturday residency at Rogue 24, which will be called the Rogue Sessions.

Tickets are $185 and will include 24 courses (12 from the visiting chef and 12 from the Rogue 24 menu) as well as wine and cocktail pairings. Reservations will be handled by CityEats, but tickets must be purchased through Gilt City D.C. Part of the proceeds from the dinners will be donated to Share Our Strength, which fights childhood hunger.

The first week features Chef Bryan Voltaggio from VOLT with tickets going on sale Jan. 2. The other chefs in the series include:

>> José Andrés — ThinkFoodGroup
>> Scott Drewno — The Source
>> Katsuya Fukushima — Daikaya (opening February 2012)
>> Tim Byres — SMOKE, Dallas
>> Jennifer Carroll — Carroll Couture Cuisine, Philadelphia
>> John Currence — City Grocery Restaurant Group, Oxford, Miss.
>> Spike Gjerde — Woodberry Kitchen, Baltimore
>> Nancy Oakes — Boulevard, San Francisco
