Prince George’s Police announced today that charges will be filed in the shocking death yesterday of a six-year-old boy in Clinton, Md., who died after he accidentally shot himself with a gun he found at home.
The gun belonged to a 20-year-old man who lived with the boy, and today authorities announced the man has been charged with reckless endangerment and allowing a child access to a firearm, the Post reports. The man, whose name was not released, is being held on $45,000 bond, a spokesman for the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office told reporters.
The shooting happened about 2:40 p.m. yesterday while the boy was at home with two other young children and his great-grandmother, authorities said. The boy was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
