It’s happened with milk. And bags of quarters. But now it’s a tractor-trailer loaded with the King of Beers that has dumped its cargo along a local roadway, reports WTOP:

Northbound Interstate 270 is soaked in suds after a truck hauling more than 77,000 pounds of Budweiser beer overturned early Thursday.

The truck overturned and completely closed northbound Interstate 270 at Md. 109 in Montgomery County just after 4 a.m.

By 4:50 a.m. the right shoulder was open.

The clean-up effort is expected to be extensive. It’s unclear when the roadway will be completely reopened.

So, how much beer is that? Well, if we assume that it’s all 12-ounce cans, it’s over 4,200 cases worth of that crisp, delicious, all-American lager.

This news would not be complete without a mandatory Simpsons reference, of course.
