BURLESQUE: The Red Palace (1212 H Street NE) welcomes Valentine Candy Burlesque to the stage this Friday for an out-of-this-world show aptly titled: Books in Space. 10:00 p.m. $10 in advance, $12 day of.
FESTIVAL: Celebrate Korean culture with a three-day festival featuring music and dance, a wildlife exhibit, booths and exhibitors, food tastings, and a tutorial on the Gangnam dance craze. 4 to 10 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The festival will take place at Bull Run Regional Park (7700 Bull Run Dr., Centreville).

H STREET HANGS OUT: It’s that time of year again! One of the city’s emerging neighborhoods hosts one of the best street festivals, so head down from noon to 6 p.m. for the festivities. Remember: Pat Collins will be on hand to inaugurate the H Street Heritage Trail at noon, and at 1 p.m. a team of brewers working on our version of the White House Honey Ale will be at Smith Commons.
THIEVES & CORPORATIONS: Homegrown superstars Thievery Corporation is headlining a LivingSocial festival today down by Nats Park (Half and M Streets SE), but you probably waited too long to get yourself any tickets. No worries—Craig has some moderately priced options. 2 p.m.
COMICS: If you like independently produced comic strips, head up to Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center (5701 Marinelli Road) for the Small Press Expo today and Sunday. Matt Dembicki, the brain behind District Comics: An Unconventional History of Washington, D.C., will be there. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. $10 gets you in for the day, $15 for the weekend.

MEXICO’S FREE!: It was on this day in 1810 that Mexico declared its independence from the Spanish Kingdom, so head to your closest Mexican restaurant to celebrate! Specifically, José Andrés and his team at Oyamel Cocina Mexicana (401 7th Street NW) are celebrating Mexican independence with dinner specials honoring the states that sparked the movement towards nationhood. The specials run from Friday through until tonight, from 5 p.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. tonight.
VIRGINIA VINES: Head out to The Plains, Virginia for the second day of the 37th Annual Virginia Wine Festival, where 45 wineries will be showing off their best. Tickets are $30 ahead of time or $32 at the gate, and you get a commemorative glass to boot.
