Branch

The man accused of killing a puppy by dropping a 100-pound cement block on its head pleaded guilty yesterday, reports NBC 4.

In late June Sean Delontay Branch dropped a cement block on the head of King Tut, a brindle and white puppy, as he slept behind a convenience store on Mount Olivet Road NE.

The Washington Humane Society, which called the act on of the worst cases of animal cruelty it had ever dealt with, offered a $2,500 reward for any information leading to the responsible party’s capture.

Branch, 24, was arrested two weeks later.

With his guilty plea to a single count of felony animal cruelty, Branch could serve five years in prison and pay a $25,000 fine.

UPDATE, 3:25 p.m.: The Titan of Trinidad reports that Branch has been released pending sentencing on November 27.
