The hot chocolate might be a little on the expensive side and the rink guards always seem to skate like they’re chasing a loose puck in a hockey game, but the ice skating rink at the National Gallery of Art’s Sculpture Garden is a local winter-time favorite—and it opens for the season tomorrow. And on the plus side, anyone who purchases ice time will get to save on the hot chocolate—it’ll be free for the day.

This year, though, the Sculpture Garden won’t be the only game in town. A new ice skating rink at Canal Park near Nationals Park opens today, and on December 1 the new ice skating rink at the Washington Harbour will celebrate its grand opening.
