A number of D.C. roads will be closed today for the 40th Annual March for Life. Organizers hope that the event will attract more than the 400,000 people that descended upon D.C. last year; this year’s event coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision.

Abortion remains a delicate issue locally. Last year Virginia officials passed a law mandating that women seeking an abortion get an ultrasound, and congressional officials repeatedly forbid D.C. from spending its own money on funding abortions. (The House also approved a late-term abortion ban for D.C. last year.) And though many people are expected today, you know who won’t be there? This guy.
