From the Department of Desperate Criminal Acts, NBC4 brings us the story of two people in Frederick County who stole a pickup truck late last week and proceeded to drive it into a supermarket in hopes of carting away an ATM machine:

The sheriff’s office says at least two people were in the stolen Ford F550 work truck when it crashed into the supermarket. After trying but failing to steal the ATM, the thieves left the truck inside the supermarket.

Despite the damage, the supermarket in question, a Food Lion, opened later that day.
