Pregnant women of Virginia: Try to have your babies at 5:29 p.m. today if you’d like to pay a little less for their college education.
The Virginia 529 College Savings Plan will give away accounts worth $529 to 20 infant’s born on May 29 at or near 5:29 p.m. (Get it? 5-2-9? Eh?) Note: The little humans must be born at one of the participating hospitals, which include Inova Alexandria and Inova Fair Oaks in Fairfax.
When these still unborn babies go to college in 18 years, the $529 they were given on their birthday will probably pay for one of their textbook brain plug-ins. (That’s the future, right?) The rest of the saving is up to the parents.
529 College Savings Day events going on in other states can be seen here.
