An Exxon gas station in Fort Washington, Md. was the apparent victim of a “ram and grab” today, when a thief driving a black pickup truck smashed into the store around 3:45 a.m. and stole an ATM.
From WTOP:
Officers were called to the Exxon Mobil station in the 10800 block of Indian Head Highway early Friday for reports of a vehicle into a building. But police say the officers learned that two people wearing ski masks intentionally drove the truck into the wall of the station, pushed the ATM onto the truck’s bed and took off. Moulton Kim, the owner says he was in the back of the closed store at the time. “I called police right away,” he told WTOP.

Two hours later, two suspects also in a black pickup truck stole an ATM from an Exxon on Benning Road in Northeast D.C. A Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman said one suspect was wearing a mask. She declined to comment on whether this crime was also a “ram and grab.” WTOP’a Nick Iannelli reports that the machine was bolted into concrete.
