The string of shootings around D.C. continues as a man was fatally shot on the 1900 block of Third Street NE, in the Eckington neighborhood.

The Post reports that the police found the victim at 8:30 a.m. and he was “pronounced dead on the scene” An MPD spokesperson confirmed with DCist that the man was killed from a single gunshot wound, but was unable to provide any further details.

This all comes after a series of separate shootings last night—all of which were, thankfully, non-fatal—that marks an “unusual” amount of shootings in the past 24 hours.
