The University of Maryland student killed this morning in a hit-and-run in College Park has been identified as 22-year-old Cory Hubbard of West Hampton Beach, N.Y.
At about 1:35 a.m., police were “called to the intersection of Baltimore Avenue and Knox Road for the report of a collision involving a pedestrian.” Hubbard was found suffering from critical injuries and was taken to a hospital, where he died. Prince George’s County police say the driver of the car did not stay on the scene and released a photo of the dark-colored sedan believed to be involved in the incident.
“It is with deep sadness that we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the University of Maryland student killed this morning in a tragic, senseless accident,” Wallace D. Loh, President of the University of Maryland, said in a release. “In this time of loss, I ask that the entire Maryland family keep them in our thoughts and prayers.”

Update: Police say the driver has turned himself in.
