A driver struck a pedestrian with a vehicle in Columbia Heights at the 3100 block of 16th Street NW this morning.
According to a Metropolitan Police Department public information officer, the incident was reported at 8:33 a.m. and units responded at 8:37 a.m. Not much information is available at this point, but police say the pedestrian was transported to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

So far, at least 38 pedestrians and cyclists have been struck this year, at least two fatally.
