Congratulations! If you are reading this, then you survived Never-Ending Winter 2014! We made it, you guys, high fives all around.

I’ve got to admit, it was looking a little touch-and-go there for a bit. I mean, two snow storms in March, an average temperature of 42.9 degrees Fahrenheit at National Airport, but we made it! It’s over! Nothing but sunny skies and warm temperatures from now on, right guys?!

But just how cold and snowy was March? Well, record-setting, apparently. The Capital Weather Gang reports that this past month was the fifth snowiest March on record, with 12.7 inches record at National Airport. Temperature-wise, this was the coldest month on record at National Airport since 1996. The regions other airports—Dulles and BWI also recorded record-setting snow and cold temps this month.

But that’s all over now! We made! Long live spring!
