Update: U.S. Park Police says they may be closing areas of Rock Creek Park due to flooding. No specific areas have been closed yet, but a release says “potential closures may remain in effect through Thursday, May 1.”

Unless you’ve been living in windowless solitude for the past 24 hours, you’ve probably noticed that it’s been raining non-stop since yesterday, basically.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop soon, and no, this is not late viral marketing for Noah, the whole East Coast is currently being pounded by massive rain and thunderstorms. According to the National Weather Service, rain, along with the likely possibility of thunderstorms, will continue in our entire area until early tomorrow morning, around 6 a.m.

As such, the entire D.C. region is under a flash flood watch until tomorrow morning, with a warning running until 3 p.m. today. Additionally, as the Capital Weather Gang notes, there’s also a possibility of a tornado hitting our region today. There’s already reports of mass flooding throughout the area, send us pics of flooding in your neighborhood if it occurs to tips@dcist.com, and stay safe and dry out there, D.C.
