Two men were fatally shot in Southeast within 15 minutes of each other last night, authorities say.

According to a Metropolitan Police Department Public Information Officer, police first responded to reports of gunshots at the unit block of 55th Street SE at approximately 11:15 p.m., where they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital where succumbed to his injuries.

Nearly 15 minutes later, at 11:29 p.m., police responded to reports of gunshots at the 2600 block of Bowen Road SE—about a mile and a half from the earlier crime scene—where they found another man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was also transported to a nearby hospital where died from his injuries.

At this time, police are unsure if the shootings are connected and no arrests have been made.
