The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in Southeast D.C. yesterday afternoon.

According to a release, officers responded to reports of gunshots being fired in the 2000 block of Bruce Place SE. Upon arriving at the 1900 block of the street, police found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. According to a preliminary investigation, the victim, identified as 22-year-old Gerald Martin, was shot in the 1800 block of Tobias Drive SE, but collapsed from his wounds where police found him.

As of now, there are no leads and police are seeking the public’s help for any information that could lead to an arrest. They’re offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information related to the shooting are asked to call (202) 727-9099 or submit an anonymous text tip to 50411.
