MUSIC: Thanks to a last-minute meeting, the Fort Rent concert series survived a dispute between the National Park Service and organizers. Tonight, the series kicks off with music by the Captivators and Malatese. Fort Reno Park (across from Woodrow Wilson High School) 7-9:30 p.m. Free.

INDOOR MOVIE: The National Theatre’s summer edition of its classic movie series celebrates Audrey Hepburn’s life in film, screening one of the actress’ films every Monday for the next eight weeks. Tonight, watch her in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The National Theatre’s Helen Hayes Gallery (1321 Pennsylvania Avenue NW) 6:30 p.m. Free.

OUTDOOR MOVIE: Last week the Crystal City BID screened Top Gun. This week they are screening its parody, Hot Shots! Crystal City (1851 S. Bell Street) Movie begins at Sundown. Free.

TUESDAY: The two-week run of Rodney King kicks off with a pay-what-you-can performance. Woolly Mammoth Theatre (641 D Street NW) 8 p.m. PWYC ticket sales begin at 6 p.m.

WEDNESDAY: Whyttle, a new social site that allows you to join communities around your interests, is celebrating its launch with a party. Yes, there will be food and drink. Carr Workspaces (1101 Connecticut Avenue NW, Suite 450) 6-8:30 p.m. Free, but register here.

THURSDAY: This year’s Capital Fringe festival takes place from July 1 to July 27, with over 30 performances on Thursday alone. Expect our guide later this week.
