A vigil will take place at Dupont Circle tonight at 6 p.m. to “remember Rekia Boyd and honor the lives of the many Black Women, Transwomen, and Girls” who have been impacted by police violence.

“This event will be a time for healing and reflection. Stand with us as we demand justice for Rekia Boyd,” organizers said. The off-duty officer who shot Boyd in the back of her head with an unregistered firearm was cleared of all charges on Monday.

Starting an hour later, DCFerguson will hold a rally in support of Freddie Gray, who suffered a fatal spinal injury while in Baltimore police custody. Protest will gather at the Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro station and then march to the White House.
