As a bereaved community mourns WDBJ journalists Alison Parker and Adam Ward, the Newseum has added a tribute to the reporter and videographer to the atrium.
The board tells what happened yesterday in plain language, and notes that the shooting comes three months after the killing of local reporter Charnice Milton.
The 27-year-old Ward had asked his fiancee, Melissa Ott, to marry him on the museum’s balcony. Yesterday was Ott’s last day in the newsroom as they made plans to move to Charlotte. Instead of making wedding plans, the family is now making funeral arrangements.
The front pages on display outside the museum and online also told the story.
